Egg

The female gamete, or ovum, which is a large, non-motile reproductive cell containing the genetic material for sexual reproduction. It is typically rich in cytoplasm and stored nutrients (yolk) to support the early development of an embryo after fertilization. In humans, a mature egg is approximately 0.1 millimeters in diameter and is released from the ovary during ovulation.
