Electrically conducting polymer
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003646
A macromolecular substance that possesses intrinsic electrical conductivity without the addition of a conductive filler. This property arises from a conjugated pi-electron system along the polymer backbone, which allows for the movement of charge carriers (electrons or holes) when the material is doped. Conductivities of these polymers range from the semiconductor to the metallic regime, exceeding 1 S/cm.
