Electrical hygrometer

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003645

An instrument that determines the humidity of a gas by measuring changes in the electrical properties of a hygroscopic material exposed to it. As the material absorbs or desorbs water vapor to reach equilibrium with the surrounding air, its electrical resistance or capacitance changes. This change is then calibrated to a specific relative humidity value.
