Enzymatic decomposition
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003997
The breakdown of a substrate molecule into simpler products, catalyzed by an enzyme. This process involves the enzyme binding to the substrate, facilitating a chemical reaction, and then releasing the products. Enzymatic decomposition is highly specific and occurs under mild conditions, playing a central role in biological systems and many analytical methods.
