Equilibrium sedimentation
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004069
A method for determining the molar mass and polydispersity of macromolecules in solution by subjecting them to a centrifugal field until a steady-state concentration gradient is established. At equilibrium, the rate of sedimentation equals the rate of diffusion. This technique is performed using an analytical ultracentrifuge.
