Fatty acyls
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004359
A major category of lipids that are derivatives of fatty acids. This class includes molecules containing a hydrocarbon chain that terminates with a carboxylic acid group, as well as their esters and amides. Fatty acyls are a fundamental building block for more complex lipids, such as triglycerides and phospholipids.
