Fatigue
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004358
The decrease in the efficiency of a photochromic system or a luminescent material upon repeated cycles of irradiation and relaxation. This phenomenon leads to a reduction in the maximum achievable change in optical properties or luminescence intensity. It is often caused by irreversible side reactions or degradation of the active species.
