Glycerides

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004933

Esters formed from glycerol and fatty acids. Depending on the number of fatty acid chains esterified to the glycerol backbone, they are classified as mono-, di-, or triglycerides. Triglycerides are the primary components of natural fats and oils, serving as energy storage molecules in living organisms.
