Gastric emptying rate

The speed at which food or pharmaceutical formulations leave the stomach and enter the small intestine. This rate is influenced by the composition of the stomach contents, the physical state of the dosage form, and physiological factors. It significantly impacts the absorption kinetics of orally administered drugs.
