Pyloric stenosis

A condition in which the pylorus, the muscular valve between the stomach and the duodenum, thickens and narrows, obstructing the passage of food. This narrowing prevents food from emptying from the stomach into the small intestine. It is a common cause of projectile vomiting in infants.
