Geminate pair
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004803
A pair of reactive species, such as radicals or ions, that are formed simultaneously in close proximity within a solvent cage. These species have a higher probability of reacting with each other than with other species in the bulk solution. The recombination of a geminate pair is often referred to as geminate recombination.
