Geminate recombination
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004804
The process where a pair of reactive species, such as radicals or ions, formed from a single precursor molecule, recombine with each other before they can diffuse apart into the bulk solvent. This recombination occurs within the solvent cage where the species were generated. The efficiency of geminate recombination is influenced by solvent viscosity and temperature.
