Glow discharge source
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004921
A device that generates a low-pressure plasma, or glow discharge, by applying a high voltage across a gas, typically argon. This plasma contains energetic species that can atomize and excite sample material, leading to the emission of characteristic atomic spectra. It is widely used in atomic emission spectroscopy for elemental analysis of solid samples.
