Hiatal hernia

A condition where a portion of the stomach protrudes upward through the diaphragm into the chest cavity. This occurs through the esophageal hiatus, an opening in the diaphragm normally occupied by the esophagus. Symptoms include heartburn and regurgitation, and it is diagnosed via endoscopy or barium swallow.
