Homeobox gene
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005346
A gene that contains a homeobox sequence, which is a DNA segment encoding a protein domain called a homeodomain. These genes are master regulators of development, controlling the formation of body structures and patterns during embryogenesis. They are highly conserved across many species, indicating their fundamental role in evolution.
