Homopropagation
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005386
A propagation step in a copolymerization reaction where a growing polymer chain adds a monomer unit of the same type as the last unit on the chain end. This contrasts with cross-propagation, where a different type of monomer is added. The relative rates of homopropagation and cross-propagation determine the sequence distribution of monomer units in a copolymer.
