Imidoyl carbenes
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005604
Highly reactive intermediates that possess both a carbene center and an imidoyl group (-C(=NR)R'). These species are characterized by a divalent carbon atom with a lone pair and an empty p-orbital, adjacent to a carbon-nitrogen double bond. They are typically generated in situ and undergo rapid rearrangements or additions.
