Immobilized phase
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005632
A stationary phase in chromatography that is chemically bonded or physically entrapped within the support material, preventing its dissolution or elution by the mobile phase. This immobilization enhances the stability and lifetime of the chromatographic column, allowing for a wider range of mobile phase compositions and operating conditions. It is commonly achieved through polymerization or covalent bonding of the stationary phase material.
