Indifferent absorbing ion
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005773
An ion that is adsorbed onto a surface but does not specifically interact with the surface beyond electrostatic forces. Its adsorption is primarily driven by the need to balance charge at the interface. This type of ion does not form strong chemical bonds with the surface atoms.
