Surface ions

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-013620

Ions located at the interface between a solid material and its surrounding medium, such as a liquid or gas. These ions can be intrinsic components of the solid's lattice or adsorbed from the environment. Their presence and charge significantly influence surface properties, including wettability, adsorption, and catalytic activity.
