Chemisorption

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001986

The adsorption of a substance onto a surface through the formation of chemical bonds between the adsorbate and the adsorbent. This process involves a strong interaction, often irreversible, and is characterized by a high heat of adsorption. It is distinct from physisorption, which involves weaker intermolecular forces.
