Inelastic electron scattering background subtraction

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005811

A data processing technique applied in electron spectroscopy to remove the contribution of inelastically scattered electrons from the measured spectrum. This procedure isolates the characteristic peaks, allowing for more accurate quantification and analysis of elemental composition and chemical states. Common methods include the Shirley background and Tougaard background models.
