Electron energy loss spectrum

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003723

A plot showing the intensity of transmitted or scattered electrons as a function of their energy loss after interacting with a sample. The spectrum typically exhibits a zero-loss peak, followed by peaks corresponding to plasmon excitations, interband transitions, and core-level ionizations. Analysis of these features provides insights into the electronic and chemical properties of the material.
