Infinite source thickness
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005827
A condition in nuclear analytical chemistry where the thickness of a radioactive sample is sufficient to absorb all emitted radiation of a particular type. In this scenario, increasing the sample thickness further does not increase the measured radiation intensity. This concept is relevant for techniques like beta counting or X-ray fluorescence analysis.
