Information radius
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005833
The lateral extent of the area from which analytical information is collected in a surface analysis technique. This parameter is influenced by the size of the incident probe beam and any lateral scattering processes. In scanning probe microscopy, the information radius can be on the atomic scale.
