Inhibitory concentration
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005849
A measure of the effectiveness of a substance in inhibiting a specific biological or biochemical function, such as enzyme activity or cell growth. It is the concentration of an inhibitor required to achieve a defined degree of inhibition. The most common metric is the half maximal inhibitory concentration (IC50), which represents the concentration needed to reduce the response by 50%.
