Inhibitor
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005848
A substance that reduces the rate of a chemical reaction or prevents it from occurring. Inhibitors can act by interfering with catalysts, reacting with intermediates, or blocking active sites. They are widely used in industrial processes to control reaction rates and in biological systems to regulate biochemical pathways.
