Isobole approach
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006171
A graphical method for judging how two agents act together in a mixture, by plotting the dose pairs that produce the same fixed effect, such as a 50 percent response. The dose of each agent alone gives the two axis intercepts, and the straight line joining them marks additivity. Points falling below that line, on a concave isobole, indicate synergism, while points above it, on a convex isobole, indicate antagonism.
