Isotretinoin

A synthetic retinoid, a derivative of vitamin A, primarily used to treat severe acne that has not responded to other therapies. It works by reducing sebum production and preventing the clogging of pores. This drug is a potent teratogen and is strictly contraindicated during pregnancy due to its high risk of birth defects.
