Lambda
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006424
A convention used in organic nomenclature to denote the bonding number of a main group element when it deviates from its standard valence. It is represented by the Greek letter lambda followed by a superscript number indicating the bonding number. For example, lambda-5-phosphane indicates a phosphorus atom with five bonds.
