Leukocyte functional antigen
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006534
Any of a group of leukocyte surface adhesion molecules, designated LFA-1, LFA-2, and LFA-3, that mediate intercellular adhesion in immune responses such as T cell killing and contact between lymphocytes and antigen-presenting cells. LFA-1 is an integrin that binds the intercellular adhesion molecules ICAM-1, ICAM-2, and ICAM-3, whereas LFA-2 (CD2) and LFA-3 (CD58) are immunoglobulin superfamily members that bind each other.
