Lorenz-Mie theory

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006772

A complete analytical solution for the scattering of electromagnetic radiation by a homogeneous sphere. This theory describes how light interacts with particles of arbitrary size, from very small to very large compared to the wavelength of light. It is widely used in atmospheric science, colloid chemistry, and optical engineering.
