Malthusian theory

A theory proposing that population growth tends to outpace the growth of food supply, leading to resource scarcity, famine, and disease. This concept suggests that unchecked population expansion will eventually be limited by environmental constraints. It was originally formulated by Thomas Malthus in the late 18th century.
