Mancude-ring systems

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006945

Rings or fused ring systems in which every atom able to form a double bond is part of one, giving the highest possible count of non-cumulative double bonds. The name is a contraction of that phrase. Benzene, naphthalene, indene and indole are examples, and the class includes non-aromatic members such as 1,3,5-cycloheptatriene.
