Menstruation

The periodic shedding of the uterine lining (endometrium) through the vagina, occurring approximately once a month in females of reproductive age when pregnancy does not occur. This process is a normal part of the menstrual cycle, typically lasting for 3 to 7 days. It is regulated by the fluctuating levels of estrogen and progesterone hormones.
