Metallurgical coke

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007259

A solid, porous carbon material produced by the destructive distillation of coal in the absence of air at high temperatures. It serves as a fuel and a reducing agent in blast furnaces for iron production. This type of coke must possess high strength, low ash content, and specific reactivity for its industrial applications.
