Needle coke
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007799
A high-quality, highly crystalline form of petroleum coke characterized by its acicular (needle-like) microstructure and low coefficient of thermal expansion. It is produced from specific petroleum feedstocks through a delayed coking process. This material is primarily used in the manufacture of graphite electrodes for electric arc furnaces.
