Necrosis

A form of cell death that occurs as a result of acute cellular injury, characterized by cell swelling, rupture of the cell membrane, and release of intracellular contents. This process often triggers an inflammatory response in surrounding tissues. It is distinct from programmed cell death, such as apoptosis.
