Minimal time to effect or response

The shortest duration of exposure to a substance or condition required for a detectable biological effect or response to manifest in an organism or population. This metric is used in toxicology and ecotoxicology to characterize the speed of onset of adverse effects. It is often determined through controlled experimental studies.
