Molar ellipticity
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007469
A measure of the ellipticity of polarized light after passing through a chiral sample, normalized by the molar concentration of the chiral species and the path length. This quantity is used in circular dichroism spectroscopy to characterize the secondary structure of molecules. It is typically expressed in degrees cm² dmol⁻¹.
