Mosaicism

The presence of two or more populations of cells with different genotypes in one individual, originating from a single zygote. This condition arises from mutations or chromosomal abnormalities occurring after fertilization during early embryonic development. Mosaicism can lead to variable expression of genetic disorders, such as some forms of Down syndrome.
