Multiplicative name

A name that expresses two or more identical parent structures joined by a symmetrical central group, the central group being cited as a multiplying prefix such as oxydi or methylenedi. Diethylene glycol is named 2,2'-oxydiethanol this way, and bis(chloromethyl) ether becomes oxybis(chloromethane) in multiplicative form.
