Myelencephalon

The most caudal region of the embryonic hindbrain, which develops into the medulla oblongata in the adult brain. This part of the brainstem is responsible for regulating many vital autonomic functions, including breathing, heart rate, and blood pressure. It also serves as a relay station for sensory and motor information.
