Prosencephalon
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009560
The most anterior of the three primary brain vesicles of the embryonic neural tube, which later develops into the forebrain. This region gives rise to the telencephalon and diencephalon, which further differentiate into structures such as the cerebral hemispheres, thalamus, and hypothalamus. It is responsible for higher cognitive functions, sensory processing, and regulation of autonomic functions.
