Myeloma protein

An abnormal monoclonal immunoglobulin or immunoglobulin fragment produced by a clone of malignant plasma cells in patients with multiple myeloma. These proteins, also known as M-proteins, can be detected in the blood or urine. Their presence is a diagnostic marker for myeloma and related disorders.
