Hybridoma
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005444
A hybrid cell line produced by fusing an antibody-producing B lymphocyte with a myeloma (cancer) cell. This fusion results in a cell that can both produce a specific monoclonal antibody and proliferate indefinitely in culture. Hybridomas are widely used in biotechnology for the large-scale production of therapeutic and diagnostic antibodies.
