Neural activity

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007850

The electrical and chemical signaling processes occurring within neurons and between neural networks. This activity involves the generation and propagation of action potentials, neurotransmitter release, and synaptic transmission. It underlies all brain functions, including thought, sensation, movement, and emotion, and can be measured by techniques such as electroencephalography.
