Brain slice
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001469
A thin section of brain tissue, maintained alive in vitro, used for neurophysiological and neuropharmacological studies. These preparations allow researchers to investigate neuronal activity, synaptic transmission, and the effects of chemical agents on neural circuits under controlled conditions. Slice thickness often ranges from 200 to 500 micrometers.
