Neurotubule

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007904

A hollow, cylindrical protein filament found within the cytoplasm of neurons, composed primarily of tubulin subunits. These structures are a major component of the neuronal cytoskeleton, providing structural support and serving as tracks for intracellular transport of organelles and vesicles. Neurotubules are approximately 25 nanometers in diameter.
