Neurofibril

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007871

A fine, thread-like structure found within the cytoplasm of neurons, particularly in the axon and dendrites. These structures are composed of bundles of neurofilaments and microtubules, which are cytoskeletal proteins. Neurofibrils provide structural support to the neuron and are involved in the intracellular transport of substances.
